SEKEM

Upscaling regenerative farming

SEKEM
Sustainable Living, Nurturing Humanity

In November of 2023, COmON’s board visited SEKEM in Egypt. SEKEM is a role model for sustainable social enterprise, where economic, social and cultural development go hand in hand. SEKEM contributes to climate change mitigation and works to increase the area of fertile agricultural land in Egypt, biodiversity, water management, empowerment, education, cultural development, and much more. As an inspiring example, SEKEM shows that there are alternatives to migration. COmON launched a support programme in 2023 to eventually convert 40,000 farmers in Egypt to regenerative farming practices.
