Where a meeting of land and sea offers different views at every angle
Over a period of six years COmON has supported activities in and around Maputo Special Reserve, these days also known as the new Pearl of Mozambique, which enabled the operations of this unique park to thrive. In the surrounding buffer-zone much needed alternative livelihoods and the socio-economic benefits have been created as well.
One of earth’s 36 biologically richest and most endangered ecoregions
With the initial support of COmON, Maputo National Park is the example of how a park should be organised and managed. Wild animals have returned, several tourist lodges have been built, tourists are flocking and nature is indescribably beautiful. In addition, the communities around the park have benefited economically due to the renewed vibrancy in the area.
Stewards of harmony: Forging nature's unity, fostering prosperity, and nurturing tranquility.
